9/9/2002 My name is Dana Countryman, and I just purchased one of your QCS-44 synthesizers. I just wanted to write and tell you how happy I am with this purchase. It has been a dream of mine for 30 years to own a Moog-style console synthesizer, and never in a million years did I dream that I'd finally be able to! When the Moog company went belly up decades ago, i figured that was the end of that. After all, when they stop making something, it's pretty hard to buy it! Besides, the price of the classic Moog was way more than I could afford back then, and it still would be unaffordable to me today. I publish a magazine called COOL AND STRANGE MUSIC MAGAZINE, and we've interviewed or featured articles about many synthesizer greats, such as Dick Hyman, Jean Jacques Perrey, Wendy Carlos, Mort Garson, and even Robert Moog, himself! When we did an article on Mike Bucki's MOOG CE SYSTEMS, my dream started to come alive again of owning a classic Moog setup. However, once I priced even a minimal system of his, I realized that there was no way my budget could handle the price Mike was asking. When I started poking around the internet, much to my surprise, I noticed several new companies were producing modular analog synths again. After researching each one's products, I became increasingly drawn to synthesizers.com's line of synths. I made friends with Joe "Guido" Welsh of Brentwood, TN, who is a subscriber to my magazine after he wrote to me about the Ondioline I brought back from France in 2000, (and have since restored.) Guido mentioned that he had one of your systems, and raved about it. After speaking with him about his "Arrick", I realized that this was a quality product, and best of all, one that my budget would allow me to buy! Since then, Guido has been a great advisor to me, and helped me put together a custom set up that fit the bill for me. The month and a half that I was waiting for my synth to be delivered was rough, but I bided my time poring over the printouts of the module information that I got from your website. When I recognized *MY* synth being assembled on your workbench, via your webcam, my heart nearly skipped a beat. I hadn't been this head over heels since I met the woman who became my wife 11 years ago! Finally, when my www.synthesizers.com system arrived, I was nearly jumping out of my skin with excitement. It was everything I hoped it would be, and the craftsmanship of the instrument impressed me.. My dad is a master carpenter, and he built a custom walnult desk and keyboard garage, for the synth, matching the stain of your unit exactly. You can see my synth on my site at www.danacountryman.com. Since then, I've installed the synthesizer in my studio and have had time to experiment with it. The sounds I can get with the instrument are amazing, although I have a lot of learning to do to come close to mastering it, or understanding how each module interacts with each other. So, I'd like to say "thanks!" for helping make my dream come true. I am truly thrilled with the synth, and your extremely reasonable prices really made this happen for me. I have a feeling that this product line mostly a labor of love for you, and I for one, appreciate your obvious passion and attention to detail and functionality. Thanks for letting me ramble on... I've got music to record!
